About 5 Weeks to Go...Wow!

Ok...I said that I had been waiting very patiently for the official 10 week countdown mark...but holy cow the last 5 weeks have flown by!  Now our little man will be here in less than 5 weeks!  Dr. Suiter said he will most likely be a November baby.  I just can't wait to get my hands on him and those precious little feet they keep showing me during the ultrasounds!  We get one more ultrasound next week so I'll post some pics from that then.  Yay!

Here are a few photos from the baby showers we have been blessed with!!  So Fun!!

This was from our couples shower...it was a golf theme.  Shannon and Kaye always go above and beyond and they are just so talented!  We had a great time and Rob got lots of great things!

This one is from a diaper shower that the Lufkin girls threw for us and it was SO fun getting together with everyone at the tea room!  Love this group of girls!

And this one is from the Houston baby shower that was at my sister's house...I always LOVE getting to see my Houston girls!

Like I said we are truly blessed to have such great friends and family....Baby Rob doesn't know it yet but he's already SO LOVED by so many!  Thank you everyone!

Happy October!

I can't believe its October already.  It feels like just yesterday we were celebrating my 30th birthday.....geez 31 sounds OLD!  When I turned 30 last year I was kinda bummed about it...but all in all its been a good year.  Some of the highlights from my 30th year are:

1.  Jamie and I went to Mexico in December on a last minute vacay and stayed at The Royal in Playa del Carmen....we love staying there because it's so close to town and we can walk in and hang out at our favorite place to just chill...the Tequila Barrell.  We like to sip on some nice tequila and just people watch.

2.  My law school girlfiriends and I took a little get-away weekend to the hill country in November just because.  Those girls are just plain awesome....I don't know what I would do without them!

3.  We got to go to the Rose Bowl and watch the Horned Frogs win!  We also rang in the new year while we were there with great friends and good times!

4.  We furnished our home and painted the entire inside!!

5.  We got to see friends tie the knot at our honeymoon spot...Secrets Maroma Beach...in February.  Always a good time.  It was my first beach wedding to attend.

6.  My beautiful niece, Allison Frances, was born on March 8.

7.  We found out we were pregnant in March!!

8.  Jamie and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary with a little weekend getaway to Dallas...we ate dinner at Reunion Tower, went to the Dallas zoo and just enjoyed eachother.

9.  Jamie turned 29 on May 31!  (yes he calls me a cougar all the time)

10.  We found out we are having a baby BOY on July 1!!

11.  We took a vacation/babymoon to Jamaica at the end of July.

I'm sure I've left out many, many good things that happened throughout the year but these are just the ones that stood out to me as I wrote this.  All in all...I would say this girl is pretty blessed!

The Countdown Begins...10 weeks to Go!!!

Finally...we made it to the 10 week countdown.  I've been looking forward to this part for a while.  What I haven't been looking forward to is not being able to move around quite so well, swollen ankles (yes..already) and all the other lovely things that come with being in the third trimester.  BUT....all of those things just mean we are getting closer and closer to meeting our little one!  October is fully booked for us so I think it will fly by...November on the other hand may slow to a snail-like pace I'm afraid.

Rob's nursery is almost complete...we just lack hanging some pictures/frames and putting all the 'stuff' away where it belongs.  I'm skipping out on decorating for Halloween this year...I know...lazy lazy!  However, Jamie did not look too thrilled when I told him we would be decorating the house for Christmas at the beginning of November.  I told him it was necessary to have our house decorated for our baby's first Christmas and the futher we get into November...well..you just never know!

My sister came to town and took some maternity pictures for us.  She is starting up her own photography business so we played around with some new ideas for her new clients.  I really enjoyed it and will post some pics once she has them all edited and pretty-looking!  For now...here is a new (not so professional) preggo pic.

AH-mazing!

We went yesterday for an ultrasound...finally!  We hadn't gotten to see our little man for almost 14 weeks and we were both ready!  Needlesss to say...we were both in awe at how much detail we were able to see going on in there with the machinery and technology that is available to us these days.  We just loved seeing our little boy hanging out...he even starting smiling/opening and closing his mouth toward the end.  We will hopefully get one more ultrasound at 35 weeks but until then I have these pictures to look at.  Daydreaming/nesting/waiting has officially begun!

Post-Baby Running Incentive

So I've been going back and forth on which stroller I wanted because goodness gracious those things are not cheap!  I finally decided on the BOB Revolution....it's supposed to be the best all-purpose stroller, especially if you do want to jog with the little one.  I justified it by telling myself that if I got this one, I would have NO EXCUSE not to use it for jogging.  Here's to hoping that justification holds true....these extra pounds need to go...and go quickly!!

Growing....growing.

Here's the almost-most-recent photo of me at 26 weeks.  We missed the 27 week photo op and the 28 week one is just too icky to share.  I'll post another one at the big 30 week mark!  Its definitely been interesting to see my body change...and growwwww!  Baby Rob weighs just under 3 pounds now...very exciting!  I'm slowly getting his nursery finished (pics to come) and we are getting really excited to meet our little man!

The Big Reveal (and a reason to have champagne/juice and cupcakes)

Jamie and I had our families over (minus Molli....sad she wasn't there) to have a little fun and reveal to them whether we are having a baby girl Davis or a baby boy Davis.  Here are a few pics from the day.

Brady and Michael enjoyed the festivities!

I've been slacking in the blogging arena lately.  BUT...big news to share...

You'll Love Lufkin

I can't believe its already May!  Spring fever/Summer time fun has set in and this weekend will be a fun way to start the Summer off.  Lovely Lufkin is putting on their very first music festival (East Texas Summerfest) with lots of fun things to do.  We are heading that way tonight/tomorrow to check it out!  If you live in Lufkin, you should come too!

I Wish I May, I Wish I Might

So Jamie and myself got a little souvenir when we went to Mexico in December.  We were walking down 5th Ave. in Playa del Carmen and wanted to buy something to take back with us from our trip.  We saw this super cute store with all these brightly colored puzzle-type pieces in it.  So...we stopped and decided to buy this.....

We really wanted a really BIG, bright piece that had a lot of cute animals on it but it wasn't quite in our budget....next time.  This little one was. :)

Before Pictures

So...we are getting pretty close to having a newly painted house and a house full of furniture.  So I thought I would share the before photos now.  These crack me up b/c there is just so much empty space. It will be a couple weeks but the Afters are soon to follow (hopefully).

Our First Purchase...of Many!

Yay!  We finally made our first furniture purchase...this table and these chairs for our breakfast area.  Super excited!  We have a long way to go...but we are making progress!

On another note....crazy Texas weather kills me!  Lufkin is pretty much shut down for now....a few drops of ice in East Texas and that happens. We are working until lunch today and then getting a group together for a good time somewhere yet to be determined.  Hope everyone is staying warm!!

Better Late Than Never

Goodness gracious we've been busy since Christmas. Always on the go and having fun at the same time. We enjoyed family and friends over Christmas....

and then headed to California for the New Year and the ROSE BOWL!

The trip was tons of fun and it was truly a unique experience to see the Frogs win in Pasadena (I don't know what I would have done with Mr. Davis if they had lost...it would've been a long trip to say the least). BUT..they won and we were lucky enough to be able to cheer them on!!

As for New Years Resoulution(s)...our biggest one is to furnish our new house.  Babysteps are inevitable so we are starting out with the living room and the breakfast area.
